Privacy Policy

TerraGo believes in protecting your privacy and will adhere to the principles set forth in this Privacy Policy when collecting, storing, transmitting, transferring, or otherwise using your personal information.  The TerraGo application is provided exclusively to enterprise customers and is not intended for direct consumer use.

1. Information Collected

  • When you request additional information or register on TerraGo’s website, we may ask you to provide basic contact information.
  • When you purchase TerraGo applications or services (the “Services”), we may ask you to provide billing information.
  • When you register for or attend corporate events, we may ask you to provide basic contact information, billing information, and information related to your participation in those events.
  • When you use the mobile application, we may also collect device and application information such as device model, operating system, app version, unique device identifiers, crash diagnostics, and usage logs needed to operate, secure, and improve the application.

2. Location Data (Optional)

If you enable location-based features in the TerraGo application, we may collect information about your device’s location. This may include precise location data (such as GPS coordinates) or approximate location data, depending on your device settings and permissions.

Location data is collected only when you explicitly opt in to this feature. The application does not collect location data by default, and you may disable location access at any time through your device operating system settings or within the application.

Location tracking is used only to support optional operational features related to field workforce management, including tracking field crews working on infrastructure such as streetlights and other field assets, improving operational visibility, coordination, dispatch, accountability, and safety for those field activities. Location data is not used for advertising or marketing purposes and is not collected when the feature is disabled.

3. Health-Related or Activity-Related Data Disclosure

Because the application may collect or infer movement patterns, route history, timestamps, and similar activity-related information through location tracking, app marketplace reviewers may classify some of this information as “health data” or “health-related data.” TerraGo provides the following disclosures to address that classification.

  • The application may collect activity-related information derived from location tracking, such as movement patterns, route history, stop/start times, and location history associated with field work activity.
  • This information is used solely to provide optional operational features related to field workforce management and service delivery.
  • This information is not used to assess an individual’s medical condition, diagnosis, treatment, or fitness level.
  • This information is not sold and is not used for advertising, profiling for advertising, or other unrelated commercial purposes.
  • TerraGo does not collect medical records, clinical health information, or consumer wellness metrics through the application unless expressly described in a separate product-specific notice.

4. Use of Information

  • TerraGo uses information collected from you to provide you with the services you request.
  • We may use information collected from you to provide you with additional information about our services, partners, promotions, and events and to improve our website and services.
  • We may use mobile application data to operate the application, authenticate users, troubleshoot issues, provide support, maintain security, audit usage, and improve application performance and reliability.
  • We will not review, share, distribute, or reference any of the personal information you provide to us except (i) as set forth in this Privacy Policy, (ii) as provided in a TerraGo Master Subscription Agreement between you and us, if applicable, or (iii) as may be required by law.

If you enter into a TerraGo Master Subscription Agreement, we may access and use information provided by you for preventing or addressing technical problems with our Services or in connection with customer support matters.

  • We use common Internet technologies, such as cookies and web beacons, to keep track of email and website interactions between you and TerraGo.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, contract, or legitimate business need. We also take steps to delete, de-identify, or anonymize data when it is no longer needed.

  • Location data and activity-related data: retained in accordance with the enterprise customer’s configuration, contractual requirements, and operational needs.  Because TerraGo Services are provided exclusively to enterprise customers, data retention periods may vary by customer deployment. In typical deployments, location and activity-related data is retained for a limited operational period (e.g., weeks to months) unless a longer period is required for contractual obligations, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or customer-directed reporting.  TerraGo retains such data only as long as necessary to provide the Services and meet applicable legal and contractual obligations.
  • Account, billing, support, and transaction records: retained for as long as needed to provide the Services and satisfy contractual, tax, accounting, audit, and legal obligations.
  • Backup copies may persist for a limited period after deletion from active systems and are then overwritten or securely deleted in the ordinary course of business.

You may request deletion of your personal data or deletion of data associated with the application by contacting TerraGo using the contact information below or by using any in-app deletion tool made available for your deployment. Upon receipt of a verified request, TerraGo will review the request and, unless retention is required by law, contract, security requirements, or legitimate business necessity, will delete or de-identify the applicable data within 30 days of determination of a valid request. If TerraGo cannot delete certain data, we will explain the basis for retaining it, where required by applicable law.

Where the application is deployed by or on behalf of an enterprise customer, deletion of operational data may also be subject to that customer’s configuration, retention rules, or administrator instructions. In those cases, TerraGo may direct the request to the relevant customer account administrator when appropriate.

6. Customer Data

  • Customers of TerraGo may electronically submit data or information to the Company’s services (“Customer Data”).
  • TerraGo will not review, share, distribute, or reference Customer Data except as provided in the TerraGo Master Subscription Agreement, or as may be required by law. In accordance with the TerraGo Master Subscription Agreement, TerraGo may access Customer Data only for the purposes of providing the Services, preventing or addressing service or technical problems, at a customer’s request in connection with customer support matters, or as may be required by law.

7. Email Communication Preferences

  • Every email from TerraGo used for marketing or promotional purposes contains instructions on how to opt out of receiving further marketing emails.

8. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

TerraGo adheres to applicable data protection principles for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other jurisdictions. Information regarding applicable privacy frameworks can be found on the relevant data protection authority websites.

Legal Basis for Processing Location Data

For users located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we process location data based on your explicit consent in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time by disabling location access in your device or application settings. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to such withdrawal.

Your Data Protection Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and request portability of certain data. To exercise these rights, contact TerraGo using the information below. We may request information necessary to verify your identity before acting on your request.

9. Your Choices and Controls

Location tracking is an optional feature. You decide whether to enable location access when prompted by the application or your device’s operating system. You may disable location tracking at any time. Disabling this feature will not affect your ability to use the core functionality of the application; however, location-dependent features related to field crew activities may no longer be available.

10. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or disclose precise location data to third parties except where required to operate the service (such as secure cloud hosting providers), to comply with legal obligations, or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.

If location data or related activity data is shared with service providers, such as cloud hosting, mapping, mobile device management, or operational analytics providers, such recipients process data on our behalf pursuant to contractual privacy, confidentiality, and security obligations. We may also disclose information in connection with mergers, acquisitions, financings, corporate reorganizations, bankruptcy proceedings, or the sale of all or part of our business, subject to applicable confidentiality and legal requirements.

11. Notice, Choice, Security, and Other Principles

  • TerraGo provides timely and appropriate notice when collecting personal information, including location data.
  • TerraGo gives choices about the ways personal information is used and shared.
  • If TerraGo transfers personal information to another country, we take appropriate measures to protect your privacy and the personal information we transfer.
  • TerraGo employs appropriate physical, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

12. Access, Accuracy, Correction, and Enforcement

  • TerraGo provides ways for you to access your personal information, as required by law, so you can correct inaccuracies.
  • TerraGo regularly reviews how it meets its privacy obligations and provides ways to resolve complaints about privacy practices.
