Jamaica Public Service Company Limited (JPS) is an integrated electric utility company and the sole distributor of electricity in Jamaica. Undertaking one of the largest projects of its kind in the region, JPS made a plan to convert the island’s 105,000 legacy high pressure sodium streetlights into smart, energy-efficient LED streetlights.

In just a few short years since entering the Smart Cities & Utilities industry field, TerraGo has managed to become the de facto standard for smart streetlight management, with over 2.5 million streetlights under management today – and counting!

The nation’s largest city-led lighting initiative is replacing over 270,000 outdated high pressure sodium (HPS) light fixtures with new energy-efficient LED lights and creating a modern lighting management system to streamline maintenance and repairs.

This past month TerraGo was lucky enough to join some of the industry’s leading organizations and individuals at the Virtual Smart Cities & Utilities conference. There were hundreds of city leaders in attendance, and dozens of speakers who were some of the most knowledgeable people in their fields. TerraGo is proud to have been among them.
