Georgia Power deployed the TerraGo community engagement solution, featuring a public streetlight outage reporting portal. Seamlessly integrated with the Georgia Power website, customers can instantly report a streetlight out from any computer or mobile device. They can also sign up to get status updates until the problem is fixed. Since the TerraGo software also integrates smart controls on 400,000 lights, many of the outages have already been detected and restoration is underway. The TerraGo software also prevents duplicate reports once an outage is detected or reported. The result – a reduction of over 100,000 phone calls to the customer care center since the outage site was launched in April 2024. Most importantly, surveys confirm the clear improvement of customer satisfaction since the launch of the tool.
