ComEd

Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd), a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation (NYSE: EXC), selected TerraGo StreetlightOps applications to help automate the inventory, installation and commissioning of approximately 140,000 smart streetlights. ComEd’s innovative smart LED streetlights program is improving the reliability of public lighting infrastructure and creating efficiencies that lead to savings for municipalities. Smart streetlight systems can also support emerging sensor-based technologies designed to enhance community safety and resiliency, and new city services.

ComEd has successfully deployed customized inventory and installation applications using TerraGo StreetlightOps, a unique, zero-code mobile application framework, fully-integrated with Itron’s leading smart city management platform, SLV. The ComEd inventory and installation applications both consist of native iOS, Android and web-based apps, with easily configurable workflows, all connected to a secure cloud-based server. The inventory application enables ComEd personnel to efficiently track the full chain-of-custody of all smart streetlight nodes, throughout their entire lifecycle, to specific inventory or pole locations at all times.

“In large-scale installations involving thousands of smart devices, the TerraGo mobile application is especially useful in helping crews efficiently navigate to and from locations, automating the commissioning of lights, and accelerating energy savings and other benefits to our communities,” said Shay Bahramirad, Vice President, Engineering and Smart Grid, ComEd.
